Moose Alley Bowling | Rangeley Maine

alleys+pool_web2One of the charms that draws visitors to Rangeley is the small-town quaintness and feeling of being in the wilderness, secluded from fast-paced cities and surrounded by the beautiful mountains and lakes. Even those who love the country life can appreciate an evening or two with some after-dark action, and Moose Alley is THE place to be in Rangeley for entertainment for all ages.

Moose Alley may be commonly referred to as “the bowling alley,” in town, but it’s so much more than that. The bowling lanes are quite luxurious, with comfortable padded seats more like cozy armchairs than the standard hard plastic chair that you’d find in most small-town lanes.

The arcade offers plenty of games and entertainment for all ages with a sweet selection of prizes to choose from once you’ve earned your tickets. For the more advanced gamers, the billiards room includes three 9’ tournament edition pool tables, a 16’ foot shuffleboard table, two electronic dart boards and two regular dart boards.

sly_chi24Every Friday and Saturday night, drop the kids off at a bowling lane and enjoy live music starting around 9 p.m. A variety of acts grace the stage from singer/songwriter and blues to rock and pop. Many of the performances are free, and some require a small fee. When the music isn’t pumping, large flat-screen TVs show sports or trivia. If your dancing feet and bowling arm are all tired out, grab a drink at the bar and just relax in one of the cozy recliners surrounding the indoor fireplace.

Once all of the bowling, games and music make you hungry, there is food available from the snack bar from 12 noon until closing time. The small but varied menu offers salads, sandwiches, flat bread pizzas and other standard bar munchies. The Moose Burger is a steal at only $6.

Whether you’re escaping a foul-weather day or you want to experience the best nightlife Rangeley has to offer, Moose Alley is the place to be for entertaining the whole family.
