Restaurants in The Berkshires

The Berkshires’ farm-to-table movement offers visitors a wide variety of cuisines and restaurants to choose from. Here are some of the favorite spots in the area for fresh local eats.

Haven Cafe

Haven’s slogan is “taste the love,” and with locations in Lenox and Great Barrington it’s easy to do that while in the Berkshires. A plethora of egg concoctions await, as do creative options like the Croissant French Toast and avocado-infused breakfast burrito. A full selection of baked goods is also available.

Brick House Pub

When it comes to pub fare the Brick House Pub in North Housatonic has it all, from fried pickles to the hot Five Alarm Burger which is served on a local Berkshire Mountain Bakery jalapeno ciabatta roll. Live music and a revolving selection of craft beer on tap are two more reasons to visit this local favorite.

Zanto Pizza

Zanto’s unassuming location in Southwick might suggest that there’s nothing special to this Italian spot but a few bites is all it takes to correct that faulty assumption. The lasagna, ravioli and specialty pizzas are all made in house with select ingredients from the region, which makes for a flavor experience that’s a cut above.

Castle Street Cafe

This North Barrington cafe serves up an amazing dinner menu, with specialties like a Berkshire & regional cheese board and an Ioka Valley Grass Fed Steak, plus a separate bar menu with smaller plates. Be sure to stop in on Friday and Saturday nights for the Berkshires’ best live jazz.

SoCo Creamery

Creating small “micro-batch” ice cream since 1989, SoCo Creamery in Great Barrington scoops out ultra-premium flavors such as Banana Brownie and Mexicali Chocolate, a blend of cayenne, cinnamon and espresso. Also look for SoCo Creamery pints the region’s grocery stores.
