View from bedroomWe called our RTX connection and explained that we were interested in taking a vacation in Aruba during March of 2012. We were asked to complete an online reservation request form, and a short time later we received a phone call that RTX found a week for us at the Costa Linda Resort on Eagle Beach in Aruba for March 23!

The Costa Linda is a big, beautiful resort with a friendly staff ready to be of service and always with a smile!  Most people on the island speak four languages with excellent English.

Our room was sparkling clean with a lovely balcony view of lush landscaping, the large pool, palm trees and Eagle Beach. The turquoise water makes you yearn to get your suit on and down to the beach. Once there you chose your own “chickee” or thatched hut; a young man will arrange your chairs and tie down your towels. The trade winds are brisk and constant and welcomed. The temperature is in the high 80s every day with almost no chance of rain. The large pool area has many amenities built in for children and adults. There is also a children’s playground on the beach.

The Costa Linda is situated on a large beach with lots of space for long walks along the surf’s edge. Kayaks are available for guests to use, tennis courts are on the resort, the activities desk has sports equipment, and there is a fitness center as well as a beach bar with Tuesday night movies for kids and adults with free popcorn and sodas. There are frequent “Happy Hours” and a free drink card comes when you hand in your “search for excellence” survey card. There is a concierge available to help you make reservations for dinner, tours and whatever adventures you wish to pursue. We were strongly advised to make dinner reservations, but found that for the most part they were unnecessary. There is daily maid service which is not typical for a timeshare vacation; we had the same person each day and she made sure we came back to a clean room with beds made and fresh towels each afternoon.

The resort has several restaurants, but one was under renovation during our visit. The entire resort is undergoing renovations and should be complete by next year. We were not inconvenienced at all and though our room had not yet been redone we had three wide screen TVs in our two bedroom condo. The furniture was comfortable, the kitchen sufficient and the décor attractive. Wireless Internet connection is available for $35 a week and cell phones can be rented.

We enjoyed many of the amenities at the Costa Linda and appreciated the beauty of the resort as well as the Island of Aruba and the smiling faces of the accommodating staff. Aruba is indeed One Happy Island!
