Kissimmee, FL | I-Drive Orlando

Orlando’s International Drive is known to some as the family-friendly answer to the Las Vegas Strip. Commonly known as I-Drive, this 11-mile stretch is the core of the tourism area in Orlando. I-Drive is home to the Orange County Convention Center complex, SeaWorld Orlando, the Wet ‘n Wild Orlando water park and the Universal Orlando theme park, along with many other entertainment complexes, museums, restaurants, bars, outlet malls and attractions. Here we’ll look at some of the highlights, aside from the I-Drive 360 entertainment complex, which you can read about here.

Getting Around

There are plenty of parking lots and garages along I-Drive, but if you want to make a day of browsing the attractions and shops in the area without the hassle, take the I-Ride Trolley, which runs from 8 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. daily. Single rides are $2 for adults and $1 for kids, but unlimited rides can be purchased in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 14-day passes.

Attractions & Shopping

WonderWorksInversionTunnel1Theme parks, museums and other attractions for all ages stretch the span of I-Drive. The iconic upside-down mansion that houses Wonderworks will entertain kids and adults alike with interactive exhibits that combine science, education and entertainment. An indoor ropes course and laser tag arena provide hours of energy-burning fun for rainy days or an escape from the Florida sun.

The latest trend in immersive entertainment can be found at The Escape Game Orlando, where groups of two to seven people try to escape from a locked room in less than an hour. The simple goal of escape requires finding clues, solving puzzles and lots of teamwork. Guests can choose from three themed rooms: The Heist, Prison Break and Classified. Ages 12 and older can join the fun, and you can book an entire room or get partnered with strangers.

Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Odditorium includes 600 exhibits within 16 themed galleries in 10,000 square feet of things that you truly do need to see to believe. From the creepy to the curious to the just plain bizarre, this self-guided attraction takes about an hour to an hour and a half to experience.

If you’re on a mission for a shopping spree, each end of I-Drive is punctuated by large outlet malls with the best brands in clothes, shoes, accessories and toys.

Dinner Shows

With a kids menu and lots of laughs, this show is good for all ages. The fun continues after hours, with illusionists and stand-up comedy shows scheduled for after-dinner entertainment on some nights.

Bring the whole family for a night of magic, impersonations and improv comedy.

For a night without the little ones, the Treasure Tavern Dinner Theater offers more mature humor and upscale dining for those over the age of 15.
