Go Fish! RTX’s Best Fishing Destinations

You don’t even need a boat to enjoy the 800 miles of shoreline at Table Rock Lake. You just need a sunny summer day and your swimsuit. Visit Moonshine Beach, a large, sandy stretch that will make for perfect summer lake memories. It has volleyball nets, a swimming area, a diving board and picnic areas.

For the more adventurous, the lake offers boat rentals of ski boats, Jet Skis, pontoons, paddle boats, stand up paddle boards, and everything in between. Watersport enthusiasts will revel in the crystal clear water and tree-lined shores, and anglers will rejoice in the many species of fish available to catch, lurking in the diverse underwater structure. Cold waters released from Table Rock Dam create one of the best lake trout fishing lakes in the country, and the area is also known for its excellent bass fishing.

This high Sierra Northern California destination offers some of the best, most picturesque trout fishing in the country. Stunning forests and mountain vistas dot the landscape of 190 miles of rivers and streams, and nearly 350 lakes, ponds and reservoirs. Commonly found cold water game fish are rainbow trout, brown trout, golden trout, and kokanee salmon. Fly fish or cast to your heart’s content in the solitude of this stunning wilderness area.

One of the best fishing spots on the planet, Cape Cod’s variety and quantity of gamefish is unmatched. Striped bass, bluefish, fluke, flounder, tautog, mackerel, baneito and blue fin tuna all swim in the waters, traveling the many ecosystems of the Cape. The freshwater fishing is also unmatched, with 365 ponds and lakes stocked with several different species. There’s great fishing in every direction at this angler’s paradise.

Cancun, Mexico
Cancun is a sail fishing paradise. These are where the big boys hang out, and 20-fish days are not uncommon. Head out into deep water and reel in a monster in the warm, tropical sun. It’s what sport fishing dreams are made of. From February to April the top catches are kingfish, barracuda, small shark, grouper and blue marlin. April to August brings migrating blue marlin, sailfish, tuna and mahi-mahi. The lagoons around Cancun also offer unique year round opportunities to fly fish tarpon, bonefish, barracuda, sea trout and red snapper.
