The craft beer scene has taken the nation by storm and Pinellas County is no exception as 10 breweries already exist with five more on the horizon. Similar to California’s wine country, the one hour drive known as the St.Pete/Clearwater Craft Beer Trail is a must-do for any RTX member who loves beer.

Various glasses of different beers

Start by visiting www.visitstpeteclearwater.com where a map of the self-guided tour is available along with summaries of each of the breweries. Plot your path by picking out the breweries that most appeals to you or make it a two day event and visit all of them.

Along the way you will find Florida’s original craft brewery in Dunedin, a fifth-generation Austrian brewer with a habit of breaking the rules, a laid back cantina with one of the highest-rated beers in the world and a warehouse in Pinellas Park recently named best new brewery in Florida by ratebeer.com.

Stop in and sample artisanal beer styles like hefeweizens, Belgian dubbel and tripel ales, India pale ales, porters and many more.
