Exquisite white sand and miles of adventure

Punta Cana (41)

The resort zone stretches for miles in either direction. Oceanside, head north on the white sand beach and miles away, you’ll reach the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. There isn’t too much to see on the way other than resorts and a brief shopping district just north of Presidential Suites. The sand is exquisite for a long beach walk, though, and the rule in Punta Cana is that the hotels can’t be built higher than the tallest palm tree, so a fantastic sunset isn’t blocked by a huge building. Head south a bit and encounter the Pirates Adventure Party Boat, a booze cruise on a boat dressed up as a pirate ship. You can also find jumping off points for many sailing and snorkeling excursions, more bars, and more tourist shops.

Street side, venture north to find tourist shops immediately adjacent to the resort. It’s a lazy, dusty street that breathes authenticity and character. Browse local art, cigars, local liquor, souvenirs and more, or get a Presidente beer in a local outdoor bar. Island time is the only time you’ll need here. There is also the Coco Bongo disco nearby that your hotel can help you into if you’re looking for a late night, and a shopping mall with bus access for more variety.
