Exhilarating Experiences | Thrill Rides in Myrtle Beach

Loosening up on the beach has been shown by medical professionals as one of the best ways to relax and de-stress. Your heart rate lowers, aided by the lazy lapping of the waves and the warm sun rays melting your worries away. It’s bliss. But what about the opposite end of the Myrtle experience? For some, the excitement of getting launched through the air on a giant bungee cord may offer the same amount of relaxation, at least after the fun is over. For these thrill seekers, here are our favorite spots in Myrtle Beach to get your scream on.

Free Fall Thrill Park

Myrtle Beach Strip (31)

Free Fall Thrill Park is simple, street side, old school fun, right on the strip. Strap yourself in to your choice of three thrill rides. Free fall 175 feet, experience 5 Gs while being shot straight into the air, or rocket around at 120 mph on a rotating arm.

Splashes Oceanfront Water Park

Speed slides, a children’s area, a lazy river, and water flumes all over an exciting way to cool off, but the star of the show is the location: Splashes is Myrtle Beach’s only oceanfront water park, just steps away from the sand. This unique experience is one you’ll only find at Splashes.

Soar + Explore

Take to the skies at this zipline and ropes course park located in Broadway at the Beach. You’ll zoom 50 feet above water on a 1,000 foot line between towers. The tropical-themed ropes course is 40 feet tall (Don’t look down!) and spans three levels. There are 33 challenging elements that become progressively more difficult as adventure goers complete the course.

Family Kingdom Amusement Park

The Swamp Fox is a wooden roller coaster than runs on a 2,400 foot figure eight track, speeding up to 50 mph with drops of up to 65 feet. It’s part of the awesome collection of coasters, arcade games, carnival entertainment, go karts and more at Family Kingdom. Purchase a combo pass for entry into Family Kingdom and Splashes, located right across the street.

Broadway Grand Prix

Your family’s need for speed will be satisfied at Broadway’s seven go kart tracks. Choose from all levels of excitement, from a junior track all the way up to a grand prix pro track. Let your hair settle down afterward with mini golf, an arcade and snack bar.
