A Taste of the Danube

Fall in love with the Danube on this river cruise vacation. Board your ship in Budapest and discover charming small towns, scenic beauty, and exciting cities of Hungary, Slovakia and Austria along the river’s banks before disembarking in Vienna. Included in this unique vacation are captain’s welcome and farewell receptions and dinners, daily afternoon tea and night fare, complimentary sparkling wine with breakfast, soft drinks with lunch and wine, beer or soft drinks with dinner daily.

Day 1: Arrive in Budapest, Hungary and meet your crew and fellow passengers at a welcome reception.

Day 2: Cruise along the river to Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, where you’ll disembark to explore the city with a local tour guide.

Day 3: Spend the morning in historic Durnstein in the Wachau wine region of Austria before a scenic cruise to Melk where you’ll have a guided tour of the town’s 11th-century Benedictine abbey.

Day 4: Say farewell to your vessel and new friends and disembark in Vienna.

Day 6: Head north into Croatia’s best-known national park and enjoy a walk among the scenic lakes, waterfalls and hills.

Day 7: See the gothic-style Church of St. Marcus along with other historic buildings in Zagreb, Croatia’s capital, before continuing to Ljubljana for more sightseeing.

Day 8: Bid farewell to your tour guide and fellow travelers after breakfast in Ljubljana.
