Here’s a list of top-rated courses in Jackson County to test your skill, designed by masters such as George W. Cobb, Jack Nicklaus, and Robert Trent Jones II.


Sapphire National Golf Club

This one earned a 4.5 star course rating from Golf Digest, and it’s hard to believe such a majestic course can be so close to home. Marvel at the 13th waterfall hole and 15th island green, something you’d normally see on TV watching a tournament.

Bear Lake Reserve Golf Club

Bear Lake Reserve has views for days. Situated on top of a mountain, the 9 hole course ranges from 3,400 to 3,700 feet in elevation and was designed by Nicklaus Design Group. The signature 7th hole features an 80 mile panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Outstanding!

Sequoyah National Golf Club

Views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park abound here, along with great playing conditions year round. This par 72 championship course measures 6,600 yards and features immaculately groomed bent grass greens with bluegrass fairways.

Red Bird Golf Links

This Reid Horne – designed 9 hole course is fully appointed with a 15 tee driving range, putting and chipping greens, and a fully stocked pro shop.
