Best of all, they can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home or your vacation resort condo.

When the weather is frightful: Food brings families together, but it’s also a fun way to get competitive. Get creative with cookie decorating, have a make-your-own pizza competition or see who has the best skills with a quick-fire challenge. The great outdoors: If there’s snow, have a friendly snowball fight with kids vs. adults or girls vs. boys. Otherwise, capture the flag is an awesome way to burn energy and warm up in the winter chill. For small children: Scavenger hunts can be tailored to any age, and can happen inside or outdoors. Plan in advance and get creative with surprise clues that they’ll find in the morning, and make it last throughout the day.

Even teens will love it: Game night! Depending on the size of your group, you could have multiple board games going at once. The winners of each game can play something simple like Tic Tac Toe for a tiebreaker. A group of adults: Have a blind wine tasting. Everyone brings a bottle in an unmarked paper bag. Number the bag prior to the tasting and everyone votes for their favorite. All you need is a small gift for the winner. Couples: A deck of cards can go a long way between two people. Learn a new game together or take old favorites to a new level by allowing the winner of each game to pick the restaurant for the next meal or plan the following day’s activities.
