Benefit Reminder | All Inclusive is a Simple, Cost Effective Way to Vacation

All inclusive resorts are pretty simple, but there are still some ins and outs you should know before you decide to book this style of vacation, which is popular at tropical destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean. All inclusives are no different than regular resorts in the fact that they vary in price, amenities, and audience. Some are meant for romantic couples getaways, while others invite the whole family. Keep reading for details on why an all inclusive resort may be a perfect fit for you and your family.

What is all inclusive?

All inclusive means the cost of the room includes all meals, beverages (including liquor,) taxes, tips, and on-resort activities. Think of it like a cruise ship, but on land. It’s great for simplicity and value: you don’t have to worry about where to go for dinner, and there are always things to do to stay active or let the kids burn off energy. (Think pool aerobics, sand volleyball, or kayak rentals.) You won’t have to rent a car to get around, and think of all the time you’ll save not hemming and hawing over where to go to dinner. (Instead, just go to the on site restaurant.) Also, imagine walking down to the restaurant right after you wake up and having a freshly-made omelette in the gentle morning sun. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Some all inclusive resorts even include room service and a stocked mini fridge. Most will have a buffet (or several) for all meals, as well as some sit down dinner restaurants, several bars, and possibly a nightclub or after dinner entertainment.

Furthermore, all inclusive simplifies your budget- there’s a set price included every day, and tipping is not mandatory. (Although always appreciated.) There’s also an emotional benefit, as pointed out by USA Today: “According to a study published by “US News and World Report,” the pain center in your brain is activated when you make a purchasing decision. This means that every time you pull out your wallet and pay for a meal, drink and activity on vacation, you struggle to actually relax. By pre-paying for an all-inclusive vacation, you gain more pleasure out of the activities by removing the painful purchasing decision. When you pre-pay, your mind and emotions respond to the activities and meals as if they were free, making them more enjoyable.”
